An EPSRC (Engineering and Physical
Sciences Research Council) CASE funded PhD studentship is available within
the Communications
Research Group of the University of York to work on a
project in the area of antenna beamforming. Specifically,
we are looking for a PhD candidate to work on the topic -
antenna array beamforming for cognitive radio. The research
project is in collaboration between RF Engines Ltd (see
www.rfel.com) and the
University of York.
This project demands that the candidate already
possesses good knowledge in advanced signal processing and
communications together with high mathematical ability and
programming skills.
The studentship will cover the tuition fee at the
home/EU rate (£3,390 in 2009/10) and a stipend at the
standard research council rate for a period of three and
half years (£13,290 in 2009/10). Applicants must be
settled in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the
UK for a period of at least three years prior to the start
